Vision
Beading is my passion. I started as a teenager, like the young beader Briana in this picture and learned the lapidary and silver smithing arts from my father. My vision is to create beautiful art to wear inspired by my love of life, nature, color and balance. I also hope to encourage others to share my passion. So if you visit Hawi; please stop by the shop where you can choose from a diverse collection of beads or get tips & lessons if desired.
History
I first moved to Hawii in 1978 as a house sitter and my first job was learning how to propagate orchids. Thus my logo, the vanda orchid, expresses the wonder I’ve found in our inspirational state and my commitment to developing and sharing it’s beauty. In 2002 after teaching elementary school for 15 years (nuturing our most precious commodity) I decided to enter the retail world of beads and let the relaxation of beading soothe my cares. My first shop was in Kapaau, where I shared a space with a Tongan hula instrument maker for three years.
